Early and Regular Dental Visits

A child's first dental visit should start at child's first birthday (12 month old). Early dental visit allows child to get used to the dental surroundings and identifies  potential  dentalproblems. Early dental visit can help to avoid unnecessary cavities and dental treatment. Regular dental check up every 6 months is recommended for all children. Children with high risk of tooth decay, unusual growth pattern and poor oral hygiene require more frequent visits. As the child grows, the dentist will assess the progression of the teeth eruption and jaw development, as well as appropriate preventive measures such as regular fluoride applications, sealants placement and reinforcement of good oral health practice. Dental problems, if any, can be detected in the early stages when it is easier and less costly to treat.
